I ran my first race in 1982 and I was hooked! I ran in High School and had a true passion for it. After High School, I started training for a spring 1994 marathon. On Christmas Eve 1993, I was in a car accident that left me with 23 breaks in my pelvis and was told I'd never walk again. I worked hard to get strength back in my legs over a period of a year and slowly went through the process of learning to walk, then to use a stationary bike, and eventually to run again. I ran my first marathon 10 years after my wreck (in 2003). My fastest marathon is 2:31:48 and my fastest half marathon is 1:08:00. I love to compete but feel that there is a period you go through where you work to win a race and then it happens and that’s it for most. I will never quit trying to compete until I know I can't achieve a goal I set out to tackle. I love to share my passion of running with others and see them achieve their goals, which is why I founded this company in 2011.

I ran sprints in high school, but what can you do with a 100 meter dash after that? Both of my parents are runners and my Grandpa Ken ran competitively in his younger years. I've had some amazing examples in my life. I started running 3-5 miles a day when I was in college to stay in shape. I ran casually through my first pregnancy in 2002. 10 days after I delivered Rachael, I went for my first post partum run and felt like I could run forever. I ran my first marathon when Rach was 10 months old and haven't looked back. I'm completely addicted to running. I love pacing just as much as racing- some days even more. I love being a part of American Flyers Race Pacers and enjoy putting together our rosters for each race.

Mother of 5, grandmother of 1, wife to 1, dog owner
Newly minted masters runner (that just means I am oldish)!
Retired (twice) elementary school teacher, currently a SAHM again.
Sometimes I run, sometimes I jog, I get easily distracted by scenery and often stop to "smell the roses."
AFRP pacer since the first race in 2011 and I LIVE FOR IT!
Justin Robins here, I love pacing. It's a blast helping others meet their goals. I've run 8 marathons (all but 1 in Utah, but it started in Utah). I've also run quite a few half marathons. My favorite race is hands down my back yard marathon, STG. Looking forward to running to the finish with any who want to come in on pace!

I started running eight years ago at age 50, after my wife passed away from Cancer. Running literally rescued me from a very dark time in my life. Since then I have completed 26 marathons, and 14 halfs. I have run Boston Marathon 4 times, Berlin-Germany, St. George, Park City, Portland, TOU, UVM, etc. and paced a dozen+ races. I am officially a Marathon Maniac 4 star Iridium level (#680), with a best effort of 4 marathons in 22 days in September, 2014.
My best pacing experience was with my son at Top of Utah marathon in 2011 with our pacer team leading 25 runners in the 4:00 group. We got 2/3 of them to meet their goal, and my son and I crossed the finish line with our last runner at 3:59:45, meeting the major point of a pacer group I think (beating the time goal), in addition to the encouragement, teamwork, and friendship making along the way.
In 2014 I ran my lifetime best half with a 1:33 at Timp, and fastest ever marathon with a 3:15:02 at Mt Nebo. So I think there is still hope for us older “seasoned runners” to keep improving their fitness and speed.
I really love what we do as Pacers, and the rewards we get back from satisfied, happy runners we help along the way, is immense and immeasurable.

My name is Brett Peterson and I am madly, passionately, in love with running. Running does not come easy to me. I have been running since 98, and have learned a lot along the way, including how to continue being the best I have ever been, even as a 48 year old. I enjoy helping others find this same success, and finding their own passion with running. Other than training, the most crucial part of racing your best, is a good pacing strategy. It is fun being a part of the American Flyers Race Pacers. If you are prepared, the Pacers can give you that pacing strategy that will best help you hit your goals. Dream Big!
Hi Fellow runners, my name is Curtis Evans.
I have been running since high school (that was a long time ago) and have loved every mile. I will have completed my 50th marathon with this St. George and about that many halfs. I started pacing because I love to run, talk, and help people achieve a goal. What better way to do all three than to pace a marathon or half. My favorite treat during a marathon is Swedish fish. I always have a bag of them with me and love to share them. If you see me just ask and I will give you some.
I will be waiting for you to ask for a fish and a story.
Kim Lee found out that pacing others to their goals is much more rewarding than racing on her own. She started running as a semi old person, (age 41) and has enjoyed it alone, with several friends and with her hubby Tom, who also loves the pacing fun! C'mon! Let's have some fun!
Hi runners my name is Tom Lee. I have enjoyed running for the last 20+ years and have had the opportunity to finish just over 20 marathons including 3 Bostons as well as many 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons. After enjoying the competitive side of racing over the years and achieving many goals along the way, I've recently found how enjoying and satisfying it is to help other runners achieve their goals by being a pacer. Look for me and my wife Kim who is also a pacer and let's plan on having a fun race and party at the finish line after you crush your goal time!
I am Andrea Santurro from Florence Italy. I have been living in Utah for a few years now. I graduated from BYU and soon after moved to San Francisco. I lived in San Francisco for three years and there is where my running career started. I enjoyed training on the Golden Gate Bridge and Chrissy Field.
I started pacing for Walter at the beginning of 2014 after being introduced to pacing at the Bryce Canyon Half. I loved the help and the confidence that the pacers gave me. I felt that if I could finish one I could do another and then another. I set the goal of 1 Half a month and so far I have been pretty good. Fourteen halfs later I am still enjoying it and I love to help others reaching their goals by pacing. I am attempting my first Full Marathon in St George this October. Single for all the ladies out there! lol
Hi, my name is Kelli Davey and I have been running off and on my whole life, but I have been racing for the past 10 years. I love the joy that comes with achieving more than I ever thought I could. I have run 15 marathons and dozens of half marathons. My marathon PR is at Big Cottonwood at 3:28 and my half marathon PR is at Nebo at 1:31. I love pacing races! It is always inspiring for me to watch others push beyond their limits and reach their goals. Come run with me and maybe I’ll sing you a song! I often end up singing since I don’t wear headphones when I pace.
Hello! I am Melissa Soper. I fell in love with running about 9 years ago. I love the longer distances of the marathon, ultramarathon, and Ironman. I remember how excited I was to set my marathon PR and enjoy the opportunity as a pacer to share in the excitement of runners as they reach their goals. Being a pacer is extremely rewarding and what an awesome experience to encourage, support, and motivate others in their running journeys. I love it!!! Join me as a pacer and I will help you dance your way across the finish line!

I started running in the spring of 2009 after my little sister asked me to run a half marathon with her. My first run was pure heaven. I didn't want to stop, and I haven't. Top of Utah 2010 was my first full marathon and when it was over I said I would never, ever run another one. Three weeks later I ran the Layton marathon. Since then I have run several half and full marathons in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and in 2014 I ran my first Boston Marathon. I enjoy running on the roads and on the trails. I love to train. I like to race. Pacing is another level of running that I particularly enjoy, because I love motivating people and helping them dig deep and accomplish what they set out to do. I also really like witnessing people surprise themselves when they cross that finish line ahead of what they thought was ever possible.

I didn't get into running until 2010. I ran my first half marathon that year and vowed NEVER to do it again. Five months later I signed up for my first marathon. I was hooked. I have since run four full marathons and countless halfs, both as a pacer and by myself. Running is my passion. I love that I can literally run anywhere; all I need are my shoes. Since 2010 my love for running has become my favorite hobby. When I am not running I also love to teach aerobic classes, cook, cycle, and spend time with family. Life is good!
Sherrie Shepherd
I started running as a way to lose my baby weight after having my 3rd baby in 2005. What started as a lap around the track every day, became a deeply seeded passion for running. I ran my first half and first full marathon in 2008 and have never looked back. I continued to run through 2 more pregnancies and finish my 6th marathon in St. George 2012 at 18 weeks pregnant. Just recently, I finally achieved the long awaited status of Boston Qualifier at the Big Cottonwood marathon in September. I ran my 9th marathon as a first time pacer this month in the Layton Marathon and enjoyed it so much, and met so many amazing runners, I hope to pace many more races in the future!
Hi! I'm Sheri Sorensen! I ran cross country and track through high school but stopped after I graduated. I started running again in 2009 to loose a little weight and relieve some stress. I fell in love with it again! I have run 6 marathons, over 25 half marathons, many 5k's and 10k's. I also learned how to swim and began triathlons in 2014. My favorite distance is the half. I have paced over 15 halfs! I am a busy mom of 4 active kids and have a husband that also runs and cycles! We think having fun while being active is a great thing for our kids to see. We love to plan weekend getaways around races! I also coach cross country at a local charter school.
My favorite thing about pacing is seeing others accomplish something they didn't think they could. I also love to read pacer feedback! I am excited to help you achieve your goals! Happy running!

Pacing is my passion! It has become the link between my "work" as a personal trainer, instructor and coach in the fitness industry and my LOVE of the sport of long distance running. With years of experience in endurance competition (2 Ironmans, MANY half Ironmans, over 20 marathons and 50Ks and hosts of other cycling and running events) there is nothing more satisfying than to watch someone's finish line dreams come true! Let's run!
My name is Wan Ho Kou/高运河. I am a runner.
Three years ago I couldn’t run a single mile without stopping. Running a marathon had never been a dream.
On July 31, 2011, my perspective about running changed forever. I saw a beautiful mom in her mid-20's walking funny in church. I asked her if she was OK. She told me she had run a half marathon the day before. I thought, "Wow! If she can run a marathon, so can I!" Then I asked her when the next one was and told her I wanted to sign up. As naive as I was, I did sign up for a race that night. With only 5 weeks of training (3x a week), I ran my first half marathon confidently on 9/10/11 at Mt. Nebo with a time of 1:41:07.
On October 25, 2013, I met a good looking guy named Walter Brown at the Halloween Half packet pick up where he had a table full of Fat Boys. I was more interested in the ice cream than talking to Walter. Months later I was invited to pace the 2:10 at the Zion Half Marathon. My passion for running and pacing took a major turn, I enjoyed pacing so much that I signed up for more races and started volunteering more.
On September 13, 2014, at the age of 51, I qualified for Boston at the Big Cottonwood Marathon with a time of 3:22:18.
I love pacing because I love seeing runners cross the finish line with bog smiles. I love pacing because I love sharing the moments of joy with them. I love pacing because I love helping, encouraging, and running side by side with runners. Witnessing their PR's/achievements at the finish makes me VERY happy.
Please join me in your next race and let me help you achieve your dream.

I started running just a couple of years ago at the urging of my wife. She had been a runner for quite some time and I had decided that I needed to lose weight after a knee surgery. Since that time I have really gotten the running bug. I have run 24 half marathons and 1 full. Currently I have only paced friends and family but have really enjoyed it. There is nothing quite like helping someone finish their first ½ marathon or reaching a goal time they have been after. I look forward to pacing Snow Canyon with American Flyers Race Pacers and helping others achieve their goals.
Joshua Snow Hansén got addicted to running over four years when he decided to take control of his life when the scale tipped over 400lbs.. Through diet, exercising and a fair amount of running, Joshua has lost over 180lbs. Like many running stories the addiction started with a 5K and then just snowballed from there.
Joshua has a goal to run 180 races over 13.1 miles before his 40th birthday (August 2021!). So far he has ran over 65 half marathons, six marathons, a few relays (RAGNAAAR!!!) and a trail half marathon that if it wasn't for a friend that ran with him, Joshua is certain he'd still be lost on the mountain.
Joshua's favorite thing about running is the people. When Joshua paces he loves pacing as he calls it, "THE PARTY IN THE BACK!" (no, we're not talking about mullets here). Being with runners who are running their first marathon/half marathon is a treat for Joshua, especially when they have gone through similar journeys as his. Every race is an adventure for Joshua and an opportunity to make new friends and encourage people along the path.
Besides running, Joshua has a number of other interests. He's an active Paranormal Investigator with interests in ghost hunting and UFOs. A dream for him is to also find and meet the elusive Sasquatch. Consequently his favorite movie is also Harry and the Hendersons.
In addition, Joshua is crazy about the San Francisco Giants, Canada, three-legged cats and Rice Krispy Treats. If you're lucky, you might run with Joshua on a day he brings his homemade Gourmet Rice Krispy Treats to the race to share with others.
He also writes about his running and weight-loss journey on his blog running180.com. Feel free to stalk Joshua all you want. You can find him on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

My name is Lisa VanDyke. I am a wife and mother of 3. I did not start running until my late twenties, but fell in love with it and now it is a part of me. The weaker my legs are from a long, hard run, the stronger my soul! My favorite distance to run and pace is 13.1. I have participated in 10 half marathon races, and my favorite to date is the Ogden half. I became a marathoner in 2015, and am looking forward to running the Boston Marathon in 2016. I love where running has taken me, and the people I have met because of it. So many in the running community have supported me in reaching my goals, and I find pacing to be one of the great ways I can give back to others. Each race I pace fills me with gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of another runner's journey.
My name is Angie Rasmussen. I've been running for around 15 years, give or take a few years. I have no idea how many races I have run, how many miles I've covered, my PRs, or how I even got started. But what I will always remember are the amazing friends and memories I've made while running over the years.
I started pacing with American Flyers in 2013 and I absolutely love the pacing experience. I love all 3 Moab races, but my favorite will always be Top of Utah 1/2 Marathon. I love that it's my hometown race and I've been able to help some of my dear friends and other Cache Valley runners achieve their running goals.
My name is Vince Massa and I started running when my wife, Katheryn Massa, suggested we shake up our normal exercise program in the summer of 2012. Within the first week I was hooked. In the fall of 2012 I ran my first Half Marathon, the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Half as a way to raise money for The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 1996 and have undergone 3 surgeries, countless hospital stays and still have a ‘temporary’ colostomy, so this race was special to me for lots of reasons). I ran my first full, the Big Cottonwood Marathon, in the fall of 2013.
While running helps combat my Crohn’s, the real thing that keeps me running is other runners. Running helps people be and do more than they ever thought they could. Pacing allows me to experience the joy of the run while interacting with other runners, new and veteran alike, while we all share those experiences. Helping others go the distance and achieve their time goals is wonderful. Witnessing the joy in their accomplishment is better than any PR or medal I could ever receive. Plus, it’s just plain fun.
Katheryn and I have been married for 25 years and have 5 children aged 5 to 15. My brain is like a sieve but I love lame jokes, stupid puns, Euro trash disco, Diet Pepsi and Haribo Gummy Bears. I like to bake and will frequently bring treats to group runs or races.
Alison Taylor started running at age 48, and after meandering through 18 months of the C25K program, has now completed 8 half marathons (as of September 2014) with a PR 1:57. She has four children from grade school to college, works almost full time at an ad agency, and loves to cook and eat! She and her husband enjoy movies, volunteer work, choral/instrumental music, and burning calories through exercise so they can try new restaurants together.
My name is Amber Jenson. I am a wife, mother of two boys, and a road and trail runner. I am extremely passionate about health and fitness, and I also enjoy helping others find joy in their journey. I ran my first marathon over 12 years ago after someone told me it was hard and I could not do it. I have been running ever since, including 20 marathons, several dozen half-marathons, and relays in the Wasatch, Zion National Park, and the Tetons. In 2014, I completed my first ultra-trail race and I am currently training for my first 50-miler, the Buffalo Run. This year I developed a new passion for trail running; I have treasured the miles spent climbing mountains with the reward of a breath-taking view. I am inspired by so many runners and appreciate and cherish the opportunity I have to run. I have always enjoyed the energy and the excitement that comes with racing and I love helping others achieve their goals

I've been running off and on for years, but never competitively until 2003 when I ran my first race, a 15k. It was extremely painful due to the lack of training, experience, and not having the proper shoes! I didn't run another race until the "Top of Utah Half Marathon" in 2008 and then the "St. George Marathon" about a month later in the pouring rain! After that day, I thought I would never run another race again. After a long post-recovery week, I decided to "suck it up" and continue to run long distance. Since then, I have run in about 40 half marathons (more than half I have paced), multiple 5k's, and a handful of marathons. When I'm not running, I am biking to help with my conditioning. I truly love pacing and helping runners finish at their goal time. In addition, my favorite part of participating in races are the shirts and of course, the food at the end! My ultimate incentive to cross that finish line!

I got my start at the age of 7, when my dad invited me to go on one of his training runs. As a Police Officer, he was running pretty consistently at the time, and I was so curious about what in the world he was doing every morning at 6am, so I went. I immediately became hooked! How grateful I am for his invitation, because running changed my life in so many incredible ways. I ended up running cross country and track in high school and college, and have competed in many other races since then. My most favorite distance is the half, and I am training to run a 1:30 soon! I am motivated by that same energy I felt in my father as he came home from his training runs. Running has taught me to move forward and to pick myself up, despite how hard life can hurt sometimes. I am inspired by the many runners and other athletes around me that persevere despite their own challenging circumstances. I am most of all in love with the sense of connection I feel with those around me as a runner, and I find pure joy in assisting those around me in their running journeys! I look forward to running with you soon!
DeeDee Ford, 47 years young
I started running at a young age. My Dad was a track coach and I was raised running around a track and eventually at 5K's. I ran sprints in high school, but ran long distance in the winter to stay in shape for gymnastics. When I went off to college, I ran to stay in shape and as a mental release from school. I ran a lot of 5k's until I got married and had kids. I took about 9 years off and had 5 kids. I went back to running when my youngest was 2 months old. That was 15 years ago. I coached high school cross country for 12 years and I am now a retired coach. I also teach 5th grade and love telling my students about my running adventures. I have run everything from a 5K to a 50K trail. I love pacing Half Marathons and enjoy meeting new people. I look forward to my next running adventure and helping someone reach their goal. ~Happy Running!!!
Chelsie Haws Jackson grew up in Bountiful Utah and discovered the joy of running at the age of 16 when she joined her high school track and cross country team and realized running would be a life-long passion she would never give up. Running is her absolute favorite activity second only to spending time with her husband and son. Running as a family is one of her favorite experiences and she hopes her son will grow up to love the sport as much as she does.
Having raced countless 5ks, she tried both the half marathon and full marathon after graduating high school and found that she loved the 13.1 mile race. Though she's a fairly relaxed runner, her current goals for the half marathon is to reach 1:50 and to keep up her competitive edge.
But no mater the speed or experience of the any runner she's excited to spread the infectious joy of the sport of running. She says there are very few things that can compare to the exhilaration and freedom of running.

I started to love running in elementary school when our principal challenged all the kids to a mile race and offered a prize to those who could beat him. Only about 4 of us did! I ran track and cross country in high school then took a break for a few years while my wife and I started our family. We now have 4 boys and 1 girl. I have been running again for a few years now and have run somewhere around 20 marathons and probably twice that many half marathons. My PR is 3:01 in the full and 1:18 in the half. I ran Boston marathon in 2011 and my next goal is to break 3 hours in the marathon. Since I started pacing I can't get enough. I'd give up my chance to break 3 hours if I had to choose between that and pacing!
Monnica Skinner is a 5’2″ wife and mother of two with lots of positive energy.
She started running back in elementary school when she figured out that she could run fast enough to catch the boys to kiss them. After that she loved the feeling of the adrenaline rush or the "natural high" she gets from running and has never stopped.
She ran on the junior high and high school teams and went on to college to run too. All for the love of running!
She loves it so much she even designed her own line of running jewelry!
She loves the great outdoors and anything to do with it especially spending time with the family, especially her husband Corey.
She has been marathoning since 2005.
She even convinced her hubby that he wanted to start running, & he did, mostly for the BLING! They now plan family vacations and such around running events.
She has run 25+ marathons (pr 4:24) and 80+ half marathons (pr 1:45). Her favorite distance is the half marathon.
She enjoys nothing more that helping others. This includes signing up for a race the night before just to go help a friend cross that finish line! She loves making friends and seeing old friends everywhere she goes and she can talk to anyone! Especially while running! She gives great hugs too.
There is nothing better than helping someone believe in themselves, and believe they can accomplish something they never thought they could. If someone is running their first race she lets them know that they are going to set a PR that day!
Her favorite advice to tell people is to just go out and have FUN!

Corey Skinner officially caught the running bug in the summer of 2005 after his wife duped him into training for the Salt Lake City Half Marathon. As training progressed, and miles began rolling by, the idea of scrapping the half and taking on the challenge of the full 26.2 seemed intriguing.
As it turns out, in June of 2006, Corey joyfully crossed the marathon finish line with all body parts intact, and after experiencing the camaraderie and celebration that awaits all finishers, there was only one thing left to do: sign up for another!
Since then, Corey has run over 25 marathons, and over 80 half marathons. In addition to completing many races of varying distances, including a few 50 and 200 mile team relays.

Half Marathon PR 1:45 (Big Cottonwood Half 2015)
Marathon PR 4:36 (St. George Marathon 2015)
Shawna Chesley Dennis
I started running in December of 2008. I started running as a way to lose weight because I was about 50 pounds heavier. It didn't take long for me to really come to love the way that running made me feel. I started running almost every day for a longer and longer. By June 2009 I had lost 50 pounds and in July of 2009 I did my very first 5k and fell in love with racing. Since that time I have done countless half marathons, relays and 10 K's this last year I ran my first marathon and decided that I want to do more. I get very competitive when I run and I love to PR and push myself. I can't imagine my life now without running in it. I've known I wanted to be a pacer and help other people achieve their goals for a couple years but it wasn't until I found the American Flyer race Pacers that I was able to do that I have only paced a few races but I love it. I love helping people reach new PR's
Hi! I am Bobbie Liechty. I grew up with parents who were runners but I wanted nothing to do with it. In fact, when I was in high school my dad paid me to run just so I would get up and do something! I would be rich if he would still pay me. I fell in love with running in college. A good friend talked me into running with her between classes and I was hooked. I ran my first half marathon in 2008 and my first marathon in 2012. The marathon is my favorite distance and my pr is 3:09.
I love pacing whenever I can! I love making new friends and helping others find the joy and satisfaction that comes through running. It is pretty awesome to watch someone cross that finish line for the first time or in a time they never thought they'd reach! Helping others reach their goals and seeing their happiness is so motivating.
My name is Patrick but you can call me awesome. I woke up one day (January something 2009) and I was the size of a baby elephant. So, I started walking just a mile and half a day 354 out of 365 days over the next year. I lost 114 pounds that year and ended the year at 301. I started running the last block home at the end of that year. Sometime in 2010 I caught a very bad disease called "rachitis," the need to race all of the time. I found a 5k to start with. The Washington County Fair 5k. And then I moved to a 12k 3 weeks later. I had fun, and decided to sign up for another 5k 3 weeks after that. I wanted a harder challenge, so I jumped in to a half marathon just 5 weeks later! I was sold and just kept signing up for half marathon, until I decided it was time for THE MARATHON. I was suffering from IT band issues due to my extreme weight loss (230 pounds total!) I bought a road bike to give my running legs a break, but after 3 weeks decided "sure I will run again"and I signed up for a Half Ironman in ST George.
I first paced with AFP in 2013. I pace about 4 races a year for them. If you see me you probably should come run with me!
To date I have done 38 half marathons, 7 marathons, 4 half ironman and am doing my first full ironman in August next year at Boulder. And yes I once chased the stay puffed marshmallow man!

My name is Shyla Moss. I started running after I moved to Nashville, TN in 2012 not being able to run one mile. I started my journey that year at age 20 to simply lose weight, but then fell in love with the running community. After making tons of friends while running, I decided to train harder and start racing.
My proudest moment is running the Indianapolis Monumental marathon at age 22, my first full marathon in 4:23. In 2015 I set a new personal best at the Run The Bluegrass Half Marathon with a 1:50:31. In 2015 I had the honor of running the New York City Marathon, in which I turned into a 26.2 mile dance party. My friends tend to call me the "class clown" as I show up to training already dancing.
I look forward to pacing amazing individuals and help you reach your goals. I hope your running shoes double as dancing shoes.

After almost 3 years I finally got it done.I started running in the summer 2004 and ran my first marathon in the fall 2004. I worked in the ER at the time and there were about 15 of us that decided we were going to train for a marathon. Out of the 15 of us, it ended up being 2 that actually stuck with it. Carol is like a mother to me and she is the reason I continued to run. We ran several ½ marathons after completing our first marathon together but never had the desire to run another full marathon. Carol and I went on a humanitarian trip to Haiti in January 2010 and arrived there about 30 hours before a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit and killed over 300,000 people. It was devastating and the most difficult thing I have ever experienced in my life. After we returned from Haiti, we decided we were going to qualify for Boston and dedicate that run to all of the families that lost so many loved ones in the earthquake. That year we both ran Top of Utah marathon and qualified, which was my second marathon. We both went to Boston in April 2011 and it was the most amazing experience ever. My sister and wonderful friend Dianne went with us to be our support and cheer us on. My sis and I ran the 5k the day before the marathon which was such an awesome experience. I started pacing for AFRP’s in 2013 and have enjoyed every race. There is nothing more incredible than being able to help a runner accomplish a personal goal. It is fun to set a PR but much more satisfying to me to help others reach a goal that they never thought was possible. I have met so many inspiring and incredible people, which is another reason I love pacing!!

Adrian Toledo, Logan, Utah. Running has always been part of my life. Running with friends fills my soul. Helping other runners achieve their goals is priceless. Thank you AFRP for the opportunity to give back to our running community. St. George Marathon is not only my favorite race of the year, but my first marathon. Since then I have run over 40 marathons, 75 halfs, 3 -50K and 2- 50 milers. Looking forward to a 100k and a 100 miler.
Laurie Pope
37 years old, 9th grade biology teacher, and having a running family.
In the beginning I always wanted to run 5 miles. That was my goal in life! I married Chris Krash Pope in 2002 and was relocated to Salt Lake where I had no friends except for Chris and his running friends. I started to get a little medal envy. I eventually passed my goal and did my first half marathon in 2004, I believe. I was so grumpy when I was finishing, swearing up and down I would never do it again, and what kind of idiot turns around and does it again! I have now done 3 50k's, 14 marathons, and I don't have a clue on my halves but did around 13-15 this year alone. I started pacing in the very beginning of this group and am a "slow" pacer. Well, actually I am just a slow runner. I have never paced faster than a three hour but I like it in the back! I love to encourage people to keep going, congratulate them on their accomplishments, because honestly, Us big girls in the back are afraid of being judged. I really try to let these people know how amazing they are for coming out, working hard, and doing their best! My pacer profile picture is from Thelma and Louise where I talked my 12 year old daughter into pacing with me! She is a little speedy and I love her!

My name is Robyne Gallacher. I’m a wife to my favorite person in the world and we hope to grow our family soon. I’m a Research Analyst for Overstock.com, and I also love writing, hiking, traveling, and trying new things.
Running is in my blood. My mom and grandpa both ran track. I’ve been running since I was a little girl, and it’s become more and more like meditation for me. I have a goal to run 4,000 miles in 2016. I didn’t start running marathons until 2014. I paced the SoJo Marathon in October and I loved meeting the amazing runners in my group and learning their stories. I’m so impressed by the positive stick-to-it attitude that seems to prevail among runners. I’m proud to be a pacer for American Flyers Race Pacers.
Hi my name is Lisa Western, I have been a pacer with AFRP since 2013. I love to race, but I love to pace even more. It is such a blast to help other runners reach their hard-earned running goals! I have run the Boston Marathon three times, almost 25 full marathons, and too many half marathons to count. I pace half and full marathons whenever I can squeeze it into my life. Running and pacing provides a connection with our fantastic runner community. I am grateful for the opportunities to pace, as I meet amazing people every time!
My name is Cevan Skinner. I'm a Gemini who enjoys long walks in the mountains, Redbull, and bacon. I really look forward to meeting you and helping pull you along at a race!
I started running about 5 years ago after being tricked into my first 5k by my brother Corey. Once I got my first medal (because it's all about the bling) I was immediately hooked. I wanted to be stronger, be able to run longer. I began training nonstop and saw immediate results. Since then, running has changed my life, and I have lost over 100 pounds. I go to the gym every day of the week, because I want to be a badass when I grow up.
The greatest joy for me as a pacer is to help other runners achieve their goals. I want them to say, “Because of you I didn't give up." Before every race I make sure to meet as many runners as I possibly can. I try and lighten the mood and quell pre-race jitters. If you would like to meet me and have some fun on a run, don't worry, I'm usually pretty easy to pick out of a crowd…
Remember races are like mullets… Business up front, and a party in the back :)
Hi! My name is Shelly Bush, and I love to run. That wasn't always the case for me. In 2007, I was a spectator, for the first time, of a marathon. The emotions I felt as I watched those runners cross the finish line are indescribable. I told my husband "I will run this one day." Lol! I was 85 lbs. overweight and very sedentary! But the next day my running journey began. My husband trained me to run. It was painful, ( I cried a lot) but as I met milestones I knew I had to keep going. My first 5 mile run felt like I ran full marathon. Running helped me lose weight. In the beginning that's what running was for me a miserable way to get weight off my body. I ran my first half marathon just to say I ran a half marathon (with the intension to never run another one.) I completed that race in 2:30, which was ok for me considering I was still 35 lbs. overweight and a pretty casual runner. Fast forward a few years and I moved to a new town. I made new friends and got introduced to trail running--the beginning of my running addiction. I entered another half marathon and shaved off 15 minutes from my first time....now I had the desire to compete with myself and get better. To date I'm not sure how many 5k's 10k's and half's I have run, but I got my PR in November, 1:51 at the Snow Canyon half. In 2014, I ran the Saint George Marathon in 4:04. The same finish line where I uttered the words "I will run this one day." It took 7 years to get there, but not too bad, for a girl like me!
I love helping people!!! In 2012, I became a personal trainer to help people with their weight loss goals. My 85 lb. weight loss/running journey can't be summed up in a paragraph. So many ups and downs--defeats and triumphs. I love helping people because I've been in their shoes!

Howdy! My name is Kiesha Baldwin and I am a Dr. Pepper addict. I also have a crush on running. Our love affair has gone on for 20+ years and it only keeps getting better. I grew up playing soccer, softball, and racing track. Running has always been a part of who I am. It’s like a choose your own adventure book every time I lace up my shoes, open the front door, and decide left or right. Where will my feet take me today? I truly love to run. I also love racing, especially in the half marathon distance. Last year I was able to grab a 13 minute PR of 1:27:22. It was a wonderful day. Not necessarily because of the actual time, but because all hard work had paid off. This feeling needs to be spread! Getting others to let go of their preconceived limitations and replace them with the belief that you can do hard things is a hope of mine. Last year I got a taste of pacing and it was thrilling and so rewarding! Helping other runners reach their goal is beyond any personal record. I look forward to getting my pace on with you!
My name is Chandra Wood, I am 24 years old! I started running back in middle school when my mom recommended I run a 5k with her. I finished and couldn't believe my time, I had never run before! I became addicted and ran track in high school on top of other extracurricular activities. I did my first half marathon in Moab after I graduated and became addicted! There is nothing like running through that finish line after months of hard work. I'm a mom to two kids under 2 and running keeps me sane!
Hi, my name is Bartley Stratton. I grew up swimming and playing water polo. Running was never "my thing" until I moved to Minnesota after college. Once I got there, I started running around the beautiful lakes. After awhile I started running with groups, participating in races and upping my mileage. Last year I ran the San Diego Half Marathon. I'm excited to be a pacer because I can share my love of fitness with others. One thing I've learned is, you don't have to be the fastest, you just have to get out and do it!
My name is Connie Lyons and I got into running right out of high school. I absolutely loved it. I didn't get into racing until 2014. After my first half marathon, I was hooked. I love the training aspect of racing. Pacing has been such an amazing experience. Helping people try to beat their previous times has been incredible!
